Focus point is the point at which rays or waves meet after reflection or refraction, or the point from which diverting rays or waves appear to proceed.

focal point is where the camera focuses on on particular part of the images for example the flowers are in the centre on the rule of third to make the background more blurred.

Rule of third is appealing a subject with the guide line and their intersection points, placing the horizon on the top or bottom line, or allowing linear features in the image to flow from section to section

With my images the rule of thirds have made it more effective to see for example the picture of me walking is effected because the cars in the background are burred and the focus point is me.

I like this image because it is very effective, the snow on the tress is a very bright contrast to the image, this picture is horizon along the centre of the frame, but this can give the photo a "split in two" feeling.
I choose this picture as the rules of third is applied by focusing on the person on the horse.
